Meet the Owner – Erik Nugent
Hi, I’m Erik Nugent, owner of NuGen Electric. I’ve been working in the electrical trade for over 25 years, and I’ve known this was the path for me since I was 13. I started out working on pools, then moved into high-end residential projects—mostly new home construction. In 2010, I started my first electrical business in New Jersey. I’ve since brought that same dedication and experience here to Arizona, serving customers from Florence to Sun City and throughout the Phoenix Valley.
I started NuGen Electric because I wanted more freedom in how I work, and more time with my family. My wife and I have four amazing kids, and three of them have a rare condition called Smith–Lemli–Opitz syndrome. Making sure our kids—and other families—are safe and supported is a big part of what drives me.
Customer service is a priority in everything we do. That means listening to your needs, respecting your home, and taking the time to explain things clearly. I’m happy to help you understand how your system works and why a quick DIY fix may not always be the safest choice.
What I enjoy most is troubleshooting—every day brings something new. I also like meeting new people and helping them feel confident in the work being done.
Outside of work, I’m a member of the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce. I also support local groups like Make-A-Wish and HopeKids, two organizations doing great things for families in our community.
