EV Charger Installation:
Level 2 EV charger installation can provide convenient home charging, with the existing panel and electrical capacity evaluated before installation.
Florence’s summer temperatures make electrical capacity especially important. Air conditioning already creates a substantial load, and adding a Level 2 charger, pool equipment, spa, workshop, or new living space can push an existing system closer to its limits. Planning these upgrades together can help avoid capacity problems later.
Larger and more rural properties may also need electrical service beyond the main house. Detached garages, shops, casitas, outdoor living spaces, and other structures require careful planning for circuit capacity, wiring distances, and future use. Monsoon-season surges are another reason to consider electrical protection for sensitive equipment.

Erik with Nugen Electric came over and fixed an electrical issue we had been struggling with for the passed 6 years. Our home was a new build and even the warranty electric company couldn't figure out the problem and would just replace an outlet here and there. After that, they would no longer respond to our calls. The power in our living room, bathroom, garage and backyard patio would always go out, tripping the breaker. I swapped the breaker out and replaced multiple outlets but no luck. Erik came through and located the issue. Finally we can turn the fan on and the bathroom light at the same time without worrying the power would shut off. I give Nugen Electric 2 thumbs up and Nugen Electric will definitely be my go to for any electrical issues. I highly recommend Nugen Electric.Posted on Google![]()

Electrical Planning for Florence’s Desert Conditions
Extreme heat affects more than comfort. Outdoor electrical equipment, panels, wiring, pool systems, and other components may operate in demanding conditions for much of the year. Heavy air conditioning use also means problems that might seem minor during cooler months can become more noticeable as electrical demand increases.
Florence also continues to have new residential construction alongside existing and more rural properties. A new home, remodel, casita, workshop, pool, or EV charger is an opportunity to think beyond the immediate project. Considering future electrical loads while work is being planned can reduce the need to redo wiring or upgrade capacity again later.
Monsoon storms bring another consideration. Power interruptions and surges can affect appliances and electronics throughout a home. Evaluating surge protection and the condition of the electrical system can be a practical part of preparing a Florence property for Arizona’s seasonal weather.

FAQs - Ask Your Local Electrician
When should I call an emergency electrician in Florence, AZ?
An emergency electrician should be called when an electrical problem creates an immediate safety concern, causes significant power loss, or shows signs that wiring or equipment may be overheating or failing.
Some electrical problems can wait for a scheduled appointment, but others should be addressed promptly. Warning signs can include:
- Burning or unusual electrical odors
- Sparking outlets, switches, or electrical panels
- Breakers that repeatedly trip and will not stay reset
- Unexpected partial power loss
- Hot or discolored outlets and switches
- Electrical problems following a storm or power event
Avoid repeatedly resetting a breaker when you do not know why it is tripping. NuGen Electric offers 24/7 emergency electrical service when Florence homeowners or businesses have an electrical problem that should not wait for normal scheduling.
How do I know if my Florence home needs an electrical panel upgrade?
Your home may need a panel upgrade if the existing electrical service cannot safely support current or planned electrical loads.
The age of the panel alone does not determine whether replacement is necessary. An electrician should consider its condition, capacity, components, and how much electricity the home uses. Reasons to evaluate a panel include:
- Frequently tripping breakers
- Adding a Level 2 EV charger
- Installing a pool or spa
- Adding large appliances or equipment
- Building a casita, addition, garage, or workshop
- Remodeling a home and increasing electrical demand
Florence homes can have particularly high summer electrical demand because of air conditioning. Evaluating the complete load helps determine whether an existing panel has adequate capacity or whether an electrical service upgrade makes sense.
What electrical work should I plan for when building or remodeling a home?
Electrical planning for new construction or remodeling should account for how you use the property today and equipment you may want to add later.
Planning before walls are finished is generally easier than adding circuits and wiring afterward. Consider future needs such as:
- Level 2 EV charging
- Pool or spa equipment
- Additional air conditioning loads
- Casitas or guest spaces
- Workshops and detached garages
- Outdoor lighting and entertainment areas
Outlet locations, dedicated circuits, lighting, panel capacity, and future expansion should all be considered during the design process. NuGen Electric has experience with high-end residential and custom new construction, which can be especially useful when a project has more complex electrical requirements than a basic home wiring plan.
Does Arizona heat affect my home's electrical system?
Arizona’s extreme heat can place additional demands on electrical systems, particularly because air conditioning equipment may run for long periods during the summer.
Heat and increased electrical demand can make existing weaknesses more noticeable. Florence homeowners should pay attention to problems such as:
- Breakers repeatedly tripping during high-demand periods
- Warm or discolored electrical components
- Outdoor electrical equipment exposed to severe heat
- Problems when multiple high-demand appliances operate together
- An older panel struggling with newer electrical loads
Outdoor equipment should also be selected and installed with its environment in mind. If electrical problems consistently appear when temperatures rise or air conditioning demand increases, troubleshooting can help determine whether the issue involves a circuit, equipment, wiring, or overall electrical capacity.
What is NuGen Electric's Circuit Saver Club?
The Circuit Saver Club is NuGen Electric’s electrical membership program for customers who want preventative maintenance, ongoing electrical inspections, and additional service benefits.
Membership includes:
- A comprehensive annual electrical inspection
- 15% off electrical services
- $250 off recommended service updates
- Priority scheduling
- Two free emergency calls per year
- Free smoke detector battery replacement
An annual inspection can help identify electrical concerns before they become more disruptive or expensive problems. It also gives homeowners an opportunity to discuss future projects, changing electrical demands, and potential safety improvements.
For Florence homeowners adding equipment over time, such as an EV charger, pool, spa, or additional living space, proactive electrical maintenance can also help keep track of how the home’s electrical needs are changing.
Can NuGen Electric install a Level 2 EV charger at my Florence home?
Yes, NuGen Electric installs Level 2 EV chargers and can evaluate the home's electrical system to determine what is needed for the installation.
A home EV charger is not simply a matter of choosing an open spot in the panel. The electrician may need to consider:
- Existing electrical service capacity
- Available panel space
- Charger amperage
- Distance between the panel and charging location
- Indoor versus outdoor installation
- Whether a panel or service upgrade is needed
This evaluation is particularly important in homes that already have significant loads from air conditioning, pools, spas, or other equipment. Planning the charger around the home’s total electrical demand helps create a safer installation while allowing convenient overnight charging at home.
